CNC Swiss Lathe Machinist - Setup/ Programmer

Connecta Corporation has been a leading provider of Swiss CNC Precision Turned Parts for the Aerospace industry since 1987.  Recently under new ownership, Connecta is now looking for a senior level CNC Swiss Lathe Machinist to join our growing team.  This position requires a thorough understanding of operating CNC Swiss Lathes.  You must be motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to follow direction and work with minimal supervision.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret Drawings on Specifications.

  • Read and follow Routing Instructions, inspection reports, and quality control plans to produce finished parts.

  • Create new and edit existing programs using 2D drawings for Citizen Swiss CNC Lathes.

  • Perform change over and operate Swiss CNC machines to produce First Article pieces.

  • Operate Benchtop lathes and general shop equipment including saws, belt sanders, grinding, and buffing wheels.

  • Inspect parts as required when they are produced using calipers, gages, optical comparators, and micrometers to ensure accuracy.

  • Follow daily shift procedures.

  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced CNC Swiss Lathe and precision level machining knowledge

  • Reading drawings/ blueprints, GD&T knowledge

  • Attention to Detail and sense of urgency.

  • Proficiency in using a variety of inspection tools and measuring devices including calipers, gages, and micrometers.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

  • General knowledge of Machine Tooling

Experience:

  • CNC Swiss Lathe – Programming experience (2 years)

  • Manufacturing experience – (3 years)
